Sudan: 12 killed in RSF attack on displaced persons’ camps

Roya News

The Sudan Doctors Network announced Saturday that 12 people were killed and several others wounded in an attack by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) targeting camps for displaced persons in South Kordofan State. The latest escalation worsens the already dire humanitarian crisis in one of Sudan’s most volatile conflict zones.

Direct targeting of displaced camps
According to the network’s urgent statement, the military assault directly hit camps sheltering displaced civilians who had fled conflict zones in search of safety.

The initial report confirmed the deaths of 12 displaced civilians, with an unspecified number of injuries. No immediate details were provided regarding material damage or the exact number of casualties.

Humanitarian conditions in South Kordofan
South Kordofan remains among the regions most affected by the ongoing conflict, with severe humanitarian conditions. The state hosts large numbers of displaced persons already suffering from critical shortages of food, medicine, and shelter.

The RSF has repeatedly been accused of committing serious violations against civilians in areas under its control or during military operations.
