AMMAN — The Lower House, during a session chaired by Speaker Mazen Al Qadi on Thursday approved the draft General Budget Law for the fiscal year 2026, with 86 deputies voting in favour.

 

The approval comes after extensive deliberations over four days, during which 126 deputies voiced their opinions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

 

Following the House’s approval, the Senate’s Financial Committee will begin its discussions on the 2026 Budget before submitting recommendations to the Senate for final approval. Once endorsed, the budget will be ratified with His Majesty King Abdullah’s Royal Decree and published in the Official Gazette.
