AMMAN — A Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army (JAF) food aid convoy arrived in Yemen on Saturday as part of the Kingdom’s continued humanitarian efforts to alleviate the difficult living conditions facing the Yemeni people.
The convoy comprised 13 trucks carrying 54,600 food parcels, which were transported overland through Saudi Arabia and handed over to the relevant authorities for distribution to families in need, according to a JAF statement.
The statement said the aid was dispatched in line with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, reiterating Jordan’s long-standing commitment to supporting brotherly nations and responding to humanitarian crises.
Yemeni authorities expressed their appreciation for Jordan’s support, describing the initiative as a reflection of the strong ties between the two countries and a contribution to easing the suffering of Yemeni citizens.
The convoy departed from Jordan last Tuesday after completing all technical and logistical arrangements, which were coordinated with the relevant authorities to ensure its safe and timely delivery to beneficiaries in Yemen, the statement read.
