Netanyahu criticizes "Israel's" prosecution: 'Driving country mad with nonsense charges'

"Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused "Israel's" prosecution of “driving the country mad” with what he calls “nonsense” charges, as he testifies for the seventh day in his ongoing criminal trial, according to the Times of Israel.
Appearing in court nearly a month after his last session, Netanyahu was seated at a table instead of the witness stand, following medical advice to avoid extended physical strain.
Responding to questions from his lawyer, Netanyahu dismissed allegations of arrangement with Walla news owner Shaul Elovitch and denied claims of receiving “special treatment,” asserting that the charges are baseless and not criminal.
The trial, which began in 2020, involves allegations of corruption, including bribery, fraud, and breach of trust. It focuses on three major cases, often referred to as Case 1000, Case 2000, and Case 4000:
Case 1000: Netanyahu is accused of accepting luxury gifts, such as cigars and champagne, from wealthy benefactors in return for political favors.
Case 2000: Allegations of an illicit deal with a prominent "Israeli" newspaper publisher to secure favorable coverage in exchange for limiting competition.
Case 4000: Claims that Netanyahu provided regulatory benefits to a telecommunications company in exchange for favorable news coverage on its affiliated media outlet.
