Syrian actress, Suzan Skaf, has recently released pictures showing off her new look after becoming the first Arab artist to fully shave her head for an acting role.

Skaf acts as Inam, a cancer patient, in a TV series entitled “Ha’irat,” or “Confused,” which is set in conflict-ravaged Syria.

Last week, a picture of Skaf, in tears whilst shaving her head, was circulated on line.

The 43-year-old actress said that she needed to be “bold” and “courageous” to shave off her dark locks, according to Sky News.

The Arab women magazine, Sayidaty, published on Monday the actress’s new pictures.

They depict the actress beaming, signaling that she is now at ease with her boyish hair-style. She even shaved in a swirled pattern to give the look a stylish edge.

The Arab actress is now part of a list of countless Hollywood actresses who have shaved their heads to fit into their acting roles.

Hollywood’s Natallie Portman shaved her head onscreen for “V for Vendetta,” Anne Hathaway had her hair all cut off on screen for “Les Miserables,” and Demi Moore shaved off her hair to portray a soldier in “G.I. Jane.”
