Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, the Army Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, welcomed the Syrian Minister of Defense, Murhaf Abu Qasra, on Tuesday in his office at the General Command.
During their meeting, Hunaiti discussed the enhancement of bilateral relations and explored avenues for strengthening security and military cooperation between the two brotherly nations. He underscored the importance of collaborative efforts to address the various challenges faced in the border region.
The Chairman reaffirmed the Jordanian Armed Forces' (JAF) commitment to leveraging their capabilities and resources to promote security and stability in the region, thereby bolstering the national security of both countries.
In response, Abu Qasra highlighted the historical ties between Jordan and Syria, expressing his country's dedication to fostering close cooperation with Jordan. He praised the vital role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in advancing security and stability in the region.
The meeting was attended by several senior officers of JAF.
