Omani police reported that at least four people were killed and others injured in a shooting near the Imam Ali Mosque in the Al-Wadi Al-Kabir area of Muscat late Monday night into Tuesday.

 

The police statement confirmed, "We dealt with a shooting incident in Al-Wadi Al-Kabir, resulting in the deaths of four people and injuries to others."

 

Authorities have taken all necessary security measures and are continuing to collect evidence and conduct investigations.

 

Witnesses on social media platform X indicated that the incident occurred near the Imam Ali Mosque. Videos showed people fleeing amidst the sound of gunfire, shouting "Ya Hussein."

 

This shooting is a rare occurrence in Oman, a nation known for its neutral stance in regional conflicts.
