The ‘Israeli’ military announced on Friday evening the start of a large-scale operation in the town of Qabatiya, Jenin Governorate, involving army units, the Shin Bet security service, and the prison authority.
The operation comes in response to recent attacks in Beisan, Marj Ibn Amer, and the city of Afula inside the territories occupied in 1948.
Targeting the attacker’s home
The military spokesperson said forces raided the home of the attacker in Qabatiya, conducting detailed searches and initiating an “engineering survey” of the building in preparation for its demolition, which is a measure commonly used as part of the occupation’s collective punishment policy.

Shin Bet personnel have also begun field investigations with the attacker’s relatives and other residents, while troops continue to sweep additional neighborhoods in the town.
Military assessments in northern cities
On the military leadership front, the Chief of Staff of the ‘Israeli’ army assessed the security situation in Beisan alongside the Central Command and unit commanders. The West Bank division commander also visited Qabatiya to monitor the operation closely.
Heightened alert in the Menashe Brigade area
Military media releases showed field meetings between the Central Command and the so-called Menashe Brigade, which operates in the Jenin and Tulkarm areas, to coordinate upcoming operations.
The developments occur amid a full-scale mobilization by ‘Israeli’ forces following the attacker’s ability to bypass checkpoints and penetrate deep into northern Palestinian towns.
Roya News reporter confirmed that ‘Israeli’ authorities have imposed a curfew in Qabatiya following the incursion.
