350,000 displaced as 'Israeli' offensive ravages Gaza City

Roya News

The Gaza government on Saturday denounced 'Israel’s' ongoing military operations, which have forced more than 350,000 residents to leave eastern neighborhoods and seek shelter in central and western parts of the city.

According to a statement from the Government Media Office, Israeli forces have been striking residential areas in Gaza City since the ground offensive began on August 11, 2025.

Officials criticized recent comments by 'Israeli' Defense Minister Israel Katz, who described the campaign as “opening the gates of hell” on the resistance.

The statement countered that 'Israeli' attacks have disproportionately impacted civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, and have targeted homes, hospitals, schools, mosques, and temporary shelters.

The Gaza government said that over 1,600 multi-story buildings have been completely destroyed, more than 2,000 sustained severe damage, and upwards of 13,000 tents used to house displaced families have been demolished.

Since early September alone, 70 buildings have been leveled, 120 heavily damaged, and over 3,500 tents destroyed. The affected structures had been home to over 50,000 residents, with the tents sheltering more than 52,000 displaced individuals.

Officials described the forced displacement as a “direct violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions,” and called on the international community to take immediate action to halt the attacks, protect civilians, and hold Israel accountable for what they described as widespread human rights violations and war crimes.

The 'Israeli' military offensive in Gaza has killed more than 64,800 Palestinians since October 2023.

The campaign has caused extensive destruction across the territory, exacerbating food shortages and humanitarian suffering in the enclave.
