Pakistan to boycott companies supporting Israeli Occupation

Asharq Al-Awsat

Pakistan formed a committee tasked with identifying and boycotting companies that support the Israeli Occupation in its offensive on Gaza, Middle East Monitor reported.

"A committee has also been constituted to identify such companies and products in Pakistan that may be directly or indirectly abetting Israel or forces committing war crimes against Palestinians," announced Rana Sanaullah, adviser on political affairs to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The decision followed an agreement between the government and the far-right political party Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

TLP had organized a rally and sit-in in Rawalpindi, near Islamabad, which concluded late on Friday after the agreement was reached.

The accord stipulates that authorities will provide additional humanitarian aid to Palestinians and ban products from companies that support “Israel”.

Pakistan also called on the international community to designate “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a terrorist.

"Netanyahu is responsible for atrocities committed by Israeli forces in Palestine, and we consider him a terrorist and demand the world community declare Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu a terrorist," the agreement states.

In a joint press conference with TLP representatives, Sanaullah condemned “Israel” as a terrorist state and accused Netanyahu of committing war crimes.

"Pakistan will use every possible means to help Palestinians and condemn “Israel” as a terrorist country," Sanaullah declared.

He further announced that the government and TLP had agreed to expedite efforts to send 1,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza, including food, medicine, and other essential items.

Sanaullah called on the global Muslim community to hold Netanyahu accountable and to bring him to justice.
