Two powerful explosions shook Sanaa early Sunday following what was believed to be 'Israeli' airstrikes, according to local residents cited by the German Press Agency (dpa).
Residents reported that the blasts struck a power station in the southern Haziz area, with flames seen rising from the targeted site. No further details were immediately available.
Houthi-affiliated media outlets said power stations in Sanaa were hit by 'Israeli' strikes, causing a temporary electricity outage. However, 'Israel’s' Army Radio denied the claim, stating that the air force did not attack Sanaa.
The explosions came after more than a month of relative calm in the Yemeni capital, which had previously been targeted by heavy US and 'Israeli' airstrikes on Iran-aligned Houthi positions.
Those raids were launched in retaliation for Houthi attacks against Israel and commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
