Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi and Syrian Foreign Minister Bassam Sabbagh discussed the latest developments in Syria, particularly in Aleppo and Idlib, during a phone call on Sunday.
Sabbagh briefed Safadi on the situation in these regions, its repercussions, and ongoing efforts to address them.
Safadi expressed Jordan’s concern over the unfolding events and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for Syria’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, stability, and the safety of its citizens. He emphasized Jordan’s rejection of anything that threatens Syria’s security and stability.
Safadi called for intensified efforts to reach a political resolution to the Syrian crisis, one that addresses its root causes, restores Syria’s security and stability, preserves its sovereignty, and eliminates terrorism.
The ministers agreed to maintain communication and coordination on efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the region.
