Oil bill decreases by 16% in first 5 months of 2024

AMMAN — Kingdom's oil bill went down by 16 per cent in the first five months of 2024, compared with the same period in 2023, the Department of Statistics (DoS) said on Thursday. 
 
According to the DoS's monthly report on Jordan's foreign trade, cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the value of the oil bill in the January-May period of 2024 decreased to JD1.143 million in the first five months of 2024, compared with JD1.361 million in the same period of last year. 
 
The reduction in the oil bill amounted to approximately JD 218 million compared with the previous year, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
 
Mineral fuels and other mineral oils topped the list of Jordan’s oil imports at JD 356 million, followed by crude oil at JD333 million.
