Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) radio revealed that estimates indicate a ceasefire between Lebanon and Tel Aviv is expected to begin on Wednesday, based on an agreement aimed at ending tensions along the border.
In this context, an official Lebanese source confirmed that the agreement includes several key provisions, among them the formation of a five-member committee to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire as soon as it takes effect.
The source explained that the implementation of the agreement will proceed in phases over a 60-day period, with UN Resolution 1701 serving as the sole reference for the agreement.
The source noted that convening a session of the Lebanese government to approve the agreement depends on Tel Aviv's final approval of the proposal.
If a legal quorum cannot be secured for the session, an alternative consultative meeting of ministers will be held, chaired by Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
The source further stated that ministers have been informed to prepare for a session on Wednesday morning to approve the agreement, provided the necessary conditions are met.
