Jordan's Minister of Government Communications and official government spokesperson, Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani, reaffirmed Jordan’s rejection of attempts by regional entities to violate its airspace, particularly with the recent incursion of drones, some of which have entered Jordanian airspace and crashed within the kingdom's territory on Thursday night.

 

Al-Momani pointed to two recent incidents of this nature in the governorates of Irbid and Jerash, describing them as a security threat that Jordan addresses with strict military engagement protocols. He emphasized that all necessary measures are being taken to counter these violations.

 

He reiterated that the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army – are fully committed to safeguarding the country’s borders by land, sea, and air. He assured that they employ all available resources to protect the nation’s security and citizens and will not hesitate to enforce engagement rules against any attempts to compromise Jordan’s safety.

 

Al-Momani also warned of rising regional tensions and stressed that Jordan will not become a battleground for any party, nor will it allow the passage of warplanes, missiles, or drones through its airspace.

 

The minister renewed his call for warring parties in the region to respect national sovereignty, avoid harming the region’s people, and cease escalation aimed at dominance and competing agendas, which do not serve the interests of the people and disrupt their potential to live in peace, dignity, and fairness.

 

He concluded by urging citizens to remain vigilant amid ongoing regional developments, avoid spreading rumors or sharing unverified images or videos, and to follow instructions from military, security, and civil authorities.

 

He also advised the public to stay away from any objects that may fall to the ground due to potential hazardous materials, and to promptly report such findings to the relevant authorities for safe handling.
