The Jordanian Army Southern Command thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics using a drone early Sunday morning on its western front – a statement by the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) said.
"Border Guard forces, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs using a drone that tried to cross the border illegally. The rules of engagement were applied, and the drone was shot down within Jordanian territory. The seized materials were handed over to the relevant authorities,” the statement said.
“The Jordanian Armed Forces are fully committed to utilizing all available resources to combat such operations and prevent infiltration and smuggling, ensuring the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,” it concluded.
