A Russian passenger aircraft made an emergency landing in Egypt on Friday shortly after its departure due to a technical issue, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.
The Ural Airlines Airbus A-321, which was headed to Yekaterinburg, Russia, was carrying 236 passengers when it encountered a malfunction in one of its engines just ten minutes after takeoff from Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport.
According to a statement from Egypt's Ministry of Civil Aviation, the pilot “immediately requested emergency landing clearance from air traffic control.”
Fortunately, the aircraft landed safely, and “all passengers were securely transferred to the international terminal.”
Following the incident, expert teams were dispatched to investigate the cause of the malfunction and to conduct the necessary repairs.
