In an interview with The New York Times, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken underscored the necessity of sustaining support for Tel Aviv to prevent the escalation of the aggression in Gaza, emphasizing that this is crucial for avoiding further destruction and loss of life.
Blinken noted that the US is actively collaborating with its partners, particularly Arab nations, to develop a comprehensive post-war plan for Gaza, expressing hope for its swift implementation.
He explained, "If we don’t have the opportunity to start to try to implement it through a hostage cease-fire agreement in the next couple of weeks, we will hand it off to the incoming Trump administration, and they can decide whether to move forward with it."
Additionally, Blinken voiced concern over whether "Israel" has taken adequate measures to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery, reaffirming that the US has been exerting pressure to ensure this occurs.
