Syria’s new Foreign Minister, Asaad al-Shaybani, announced plans for an official visit to three Arab countries, including Jordan, in the coming days.
In a post on X on Friday, al-Shaybani stated, "I will represent Syria on official visits to our brothers in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan."
He added, "We aim for these visits to contribute to stability, security, economic recovery, and the development of exceptional partnerships."
Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, discussed recent developments in Syria and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation amidst Syria’s transitional phase in a phone call with al-Shaybani on Friday.
The two ministers agreed on an official visit to Jordan by a Syrian delegation, covering military, security, economic, and other sectors.
The visit, based on an invitation from Safadi, aims to strengthen collaboration in areas such as security, borders, energy, transportation, water, and trade.
