The Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF) launched a convoy of eight military helicopters on Wednesday, carrying critical humanitarian, medical, and pharmaceutical supplies.

 

This operation marks the first helicopter convoy under the "Humanitarian Bridge" initiative, a program announced by His Majesty King Abdullah II aimed at providing aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.

 

The aid, which totals over 7 tons, includes food, medicines, health supplies, and child-specific materials. The supplies were flown from Jordan to Gaza, with the aid being transferred from the Al-Qarara area to the World Food Programme (WFP) in Gaza. From there, it will be distributed to those in need.

 

This operation follows the King's recent call for international solidarity, which he made during his address at the UN and his speech at the Arab–Islamic extraordinary summit in Riyadh. In those speeches, King Abdullah II urged the global community to support Gaza and contribute to humanitarian efforts in the region.

 

Jordan's commitment to assisting Gaza has been ongoing. Since the aggression began, the Kingdom has sent a total of 56,573 tons of aid, including food, medicine, and other critical supplies.

 

Since October 7, more than 4,000 trucks have delivered essential goods to Gaza, while 53 aircraft have carried aid through Al-Arish Airport. Additionally, 123 airdrops have been conducted by Jordan, and 266 joint air drops have taken place in cooperation with other countries.
