Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani revealed what the former Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah did on the day of massive pager explosions in Lebanon on September 17.
One of Nasrallah’s aides informed Amani that Nasrallah personally called to check on his condition following the deadly explosions.
"I was deeply moved by his gesture," Amani said, adding that despite injuries sustained by numerous individuals, Nasrallah prioritized checking up on him.
In an interview with an Iranian radio, cited by Lebanese TV station MTV Lebanon, the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon recalled the moments leading up to the pager explosions and the injuries he himself sustained.
"The device was in my office, and I received a message accompanied by a distinctive beep, different from the usual signals," he explained.
The message instructed him to press a specific button to read an important message. "I held the pager in my left hand and, as soon as I pressed the button with my right hand, the explosion occurred," Amani recounted.
