US President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday, claiming that Ukraine is considering backing out of a critical minerals agreement.

 

Trump cautioned that such a move could lead to serious consequences for Zelensky.

 

"He's trying to back out of the rare earth deal, and if he does that, he's got some problems—big, big problems," Trump told reporters during a press briefing.

 

The agreement in question involves the extraction and supply of rare earth minerals, which are crucial for advanced technologies, including defense and renewable energy industries.

 

The US has been seeking to reduce its dependence on China for these materials, making Ukraine’s involvement strategically important.
