Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem described the return of displaced people to southern Lebanon, Dahiyeh, and the Bekaa Valley as a “manifestation of victory”.
Qassem highlighted that the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) were unable to advance more than a few hundred meters along the front lines due to the steadfastness of the resistance fighters – Hezbollah.
He emphasized that public cohesion across all areas and sects served as a crucial pillar for the resistance.
He stated that the Israeli occupation requested a ceasefire, which was approved in coordination with the Lebanese government. Qassem framed this as a victory for the resistance, according to his remarks.
He also acknowledged that “Israel’s” information warfare, control over communications, and use of artificial intelligence had impacted the resistance.
Investigations are underway to draw lessons from this experience, he added.
Qassem asserted that the resistance agreed to the ceasefire because the Lebanese state committed to defending the borders and forcing the occupation to withdraw.
He described this as an opportunity for Lebanon to test its political capabilities. Despite repeated “Israeli” violations, the resistance adhered to the agreement to avoid giving “Israel” any pretext for escalation.
"The resistance triumphed by enduring and compelling the occupation to retreat," Qassem declared.
He concluded by emphasizing that the unity of the army, people, and resistance was the key to preventing the Israeli occupation from reaching Beirut and South Litani. He called for the withdrawal of “Israeli” forces within the set timeline, with no extensions.
Qassem also stated that Lebanese President Joseph Aoun would not grant “Israel” any political gains, underscoring that no one in Lebanon would accept extending the aggression.
